Still amazing that we thought he is better than Mbappe in 2017

Mbappe's skills developed a lot in past five years whereas Demb's hasn't and regressed in some areas. Along with evaluating and scouting players on their performances, personality/character/mentality analyses should be considered as important and be done by intelligent psychologists before signing players. If same analyses were done on Xavi as well any decent psychologist would've known he'd be a disaster as manager.

We don't do psychology and physicality tests at Barca.

We do only two tests:
1. Blood Barca DNA test
2. and the ability to play technical football

This tactical approach, if you want to call it that - where the ball is passed to Dembele and there's this hope he does something with it - was already a shitty idea when the team did that with Neymar. The latter lost the ball constantly too, yet at least sometimes the team got something out of it, mostly because Neymar is a far better player.
This shit seriously needs to stop.

On a sidenote, he has evolved as a player insofar as he tends to lose the ball close to the box now opposed to a while back when he usually already lost it in the midfield and was the best counter attacker for the opposing side.

I still want to believe that they extended his contract just so Barca could sell him for some money and not to go for free.
And let's be realistic and honest, the complete team needs to be built from 0. Since 2006 Barca have Pique, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets, Messi etc. Than Puyol was gone, than Xavi, Iniesta, Alves, etc. And the fact is no one invested in big players, no one scouted young talents, Barca was happy and in the fact really god with those players but...!!! WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING with scouting? Since 2007/2008 there was at least 15 "WTF" players ???
So sell this dumb ass ...

Selling him shouldn't be hard, he's just got one more year on his contract plus Chelsea would still be interested as they've not got a natural rw yet. Dembele also has to make big decisions and continue his career elsewhere, which could work well for both parties as we'll get to see if Raphinha can turn up if played consistently.

It's all up to the club now, as man is on a very short contract.

5 seasons of midness and Barcelona is still obsessed with him

Yeah, midness on average, he's completely hit or miss. He's in theory an aggressive and dynamic player who's theoretically capable of opening up a defense, winning a one to one and so on - basically a discount-Neymar. And on rare occasions, he actually delivers so he's giving people a little glimpse of hope from time to time that he isn't a complete fraud.

So whenever he gets the ball you inevitably ask yourself: Will he do something brilliant now ? Yet 9 times out of 10 he doesn't but does something so thoroughly stupid that it makes you want to send a medical professional to the field asap to check why - I don't know how to put this - his brain appears to just shut down from time to time. It's not just that he loses the ball all the time but how he loses it - it's when you think this guy can't be serious. The rare brilliance emerging from this dumpster fire drives people nuts. Why can't he play like that all the time, people ask. He's infuriating to watch and a severe threat to cules mental health.

He is a superior talent than Mbappe as far as his on-the-ball skills go.

This opinion was valid back in 2016, I don't know how anyone can have this same opinion in 2022. The only think Dembele has over Mbappe is his ambidextrous ability. Even then, it's pretty useless as even though Mbappe might be more one footed he's still easily more versatile than Dembele. Can function as a striker, a deadly left winger, and right winger. Better passer, scorer, and dribbler...

LOL Another embarrassing claim from a Dembouz hater...

Mbape is a better dribbler than Dembele only on BF

All the stats prove the contrary
But yeah, who needs stats when the 'eye test' tells you otherwise, right?
