Yeah but De Bruyne is out for who knows how long, Foden can't really be trusted off the ball, so that only really leaves Bernardo who is often needed in wide positions also.

Quite often Pep uses this part of season to try things out and adapt team then they come good and finish strongly.

KDB was fit at the time and I dont think with players had and also Alvarez as option of second striker in similar areas they were ever really looking for AM.

True. Still the team to beat, just not as strong for some reason. Part of their core is getting older too.

Grealish off form or? Barely featured this season in City games.

I think it's partly that, others got their chance while he was injured and he hasn't forced his way back in front of them since his return.

Only really KDB is ageing.. but he may be their most important player for CL.

Walker to some extent but he is still rapid and fit.

All the more reason to think they'll repeat. Unless Arsenal take them in H2H don't see much reason to think they'll keep up across season

Sky also pointing out keeper is suspect at best. Give it a few corners and City should get the needed goal

Ederson himself has been more dodgy this last year or so than seems to get focused on.

Let in a lot of goals last season it seemed he could have done better with.

Don't take the start of the season too seriously.
Last season, they clicked in late February. Before that, everyone was thinking them as meh

But apart from that, I see them as big favorites in CL because they finally lifted the trophy.
Their own demons will not hunt them any more
