De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Rico Lewis, Gundogan and Kovacic are all weaker on average than the midfielders they come up against every week. City are just soft in the middle without Rodri. They have not done well rejuvenating the squad. They've had good targets, missed them, and then just acted like it's fine because Pep will find a way. But we're seeing the limitations of that strategy now.
