It was striking to see the relief and joy of the Madrid players after the Rayo game.

Despite the fact that even Barca themselves had conceded defeat in La Liga, sheer terror was gripping the hearts of the Madridistas. They did not even feel safe with a 10-point gap.

Imagine what must be going through their minds right now.

This is probably due to the fact that deep down they acknowledge that their league table lead has been exclusively built on dubious ref decisions. Their obscene reactions to almost any call that ever goes against them is also indicative of their inferiority complex.

So a Real Madrdi theme park will be built along with a resort in one of UAE's 7 emirates, Ras Al Khaymah, and for those who do not know it is bum fuck no where like 3-4 hours from Abu Dhabi. However, it might be a nice resort because I am sure the water is very nice.

Hamilt Altintop slid in on Joan Oriol, referee Paradas Romero gave the foul, Marcos Senna struck the free-kick, Nilmar ducked and Iker Casillas dived. Too late. The ball sneaked in by the post and the lid to Pandora's box swung open. José Mourinho abused the ref. Red. Sergio Ramos did one of those wild and angry Sergio Ramos challenges. Red. Mesut Ozil applauded sarcastically. Red. Down the tunnel they went, where Rui Faria, Mourinho physical trainer, was waiting. He'd been given his red 34 minutes before – his fourth of the season. Lassana Diarra was there too, a picture of bemused tranquillity: standing passively, headphones on, as all around him people lost their heads.

Yes, they built the country at least, but they have also invested heavily into alternative energy and have become the capital city for sustainable energy. It is not as doom gloom as people make it out to be. The oil is either going to run out or lose its value one day, might as well make use of it and have a shot at making it a trading hub or a business center.

UAE has taken more great strides towards a modern way of living than it is given credit for. They need to continue what they are doing in terms of hosting scientific research and technological advancements and integrate what works into the system. They are a long way from being 'safe' but not as terrible as a lot of people make it sound.

That's good to hear and from what I know outside of Dubai the UAE has been a lot more pragmatic than a lot of petrostates in their excess, but no oil revenue is going to cost them a lot of investment and it's going to be an adjustment to be mere mortals again.

I'm also not entirely sure the whole country can turn itself into a Singapore style hub as an alternative.

Also, I hope Dubai burns.
