pedro león apperently showed why i repeatingly posted, that i think he'll be starting over di maría - with cristiano on the left side. while di maría IMO would add more to the attack, pedro león adds more to the team play. moreover, the wings are much more balanced: cristiano is attacking and trying to score, while pedro león is going more fot that perfect cross. gives the gameplay much more width & options.

i also think, that canales will make it very difficult for VdV. could be an interesting fight for the starting place in the coming 3-4 months. very good choice by josé to stick with canales. i think that had a lot to do with why david silva didn't join - giving the chance to canales (center) & sarabia (left wing) in near future, thus making david silva unnecessary.

...i like that a lot. the only things missing now is a partner for xabi alonso (sorry, but i don't rate khedira (yet) as being real madrid starting material) and finally settle on a defense.

Canales would find it too tough once Kaka returns... I'm sure Mourinho would have him at the top of his list for that '10' role, followed by vDV and then comes Canales!!

Benzema, vDV & di Maria on the bench and hence Canales might find it more difficult even for the sub appearances!!

well, kaká is out for like 3-4 months and when he comes back. and i'm not sure about VdV being ahead of canales. VdV's situation at madrid has been unstable ever since pérez took over. with kaká injured and özil staying at bremen, he's safe for now.

and seriously, josé wouldn't have insisted on keeping him if he was of the opinion canales would rot on the bench forever, being unable to even make it for sub appearances. with that i think you underestimate both josé & canales a lot.

those numbers aren't fix yet are they? it's more like preseason "nonsense"...just like dudek going back to the 25, granero taking the 11 etc.
but i guess you never know, i'll wait till the numbers are confirmed on realmadrid.es instead of AS or MARCA.

very harsh...IMO, if kaká would have costed 30-35m €, they people wouldn't react even half as angry. it's mainly his price tag that generates all this anger and hate.

i'm not calling him a saint in the context you refer to...he certainly has very clear ideas in his mind, which is why i can't see him insisting on canales if he regards him as unable to make it even as a sub player. makes no sense IMO

Which was using the aggressive chasing of Calderon to get a new contract every 3 months over a 2 year period + a contract for his useless brother, all the while his form, even effort was nose diving.

Time is running out for Madrid to trim down their squad. There doesn't seem to be any concrete offers coming in for any of their players? Or not as far as I know. Jose might want to have a look at them all for a couple of weeks before deciding who is staying and I can see VDV ending up at ManUre for some reason.
