15 players for evening training

Barça’s evening training session was attended by seven players from the first team, two from the B team and six from the youth team. José Manuel Pinto reappeared after a two-day absence.

Ten of the first team are away on international duty, but Pep Guardiola still put the others through their paces at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. This was the second session of the day and included even more extra players from the B and youth teams.

Pinto back

Following a two-day break after the US tour, José Manuel Pinto trained today along with Messi, Mascherano, Adriano, Alexis, Keita and Fontàs. The Barça B players were Montoya and Masip, and the youth players were Babunski, Cornejo, Quintilla, Miguel Ángel Sainz, Samper and Patrick.

Recovery work for Xavi

Xavi Hernández also appeared at Sant Joan Despí after leaving the Spanish national team due to an injury to his right soleus. He did recovery work in isolation today, as did the also injured Puyol on pitch number 2.

Wednesday morning session

The team will be back at work on Wednesday morning at 9.00, behind closed doors at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Alexis Sánchez will not be taking part because he has been called up for a international friendly for Chile against France in Montpellier.

I am almost certain Samper will get his debut in Barcelona shirt this year, he looks very good and composed. Sometimes there are kids who are destined for sucess. If someone asks me, I'd say that Samper has more chance to suceed then Thiago, even tho' Thiago is very close to stardome.

he's good but I've watched several full games and he still needs alot to learn. He misses many passes and he needs to work harder on defending. He reminds me of guardiola from what I've seen of Guardiola! I heard he was also approached by wenger ( the new cesc? ) but he rejected any move from the camp nou. This guy and grimaldo are the guys who i'm most confident about not seeing them leave due to offers from other big clubs. i know it's too soon to say it but hey i think that if he rejected a move is because he knows he can and wants to triumph at barca.

Well, that's what kids have to do, learn the ropes. Same for anything in life.

Showed some extremely great and smooth skill tonight.

He might become such a player!

He really might, so supremely confident & smooth on the ball...I really have little doubt that this kid is a future first teamer

As the game went on, they were passing the ball to him more and more and waiting what he will do with it
There´s something special in his leadership skills. Could be much useful with proper DM behin him as he has that robustness that Xavi or Iniesta has.

The Barca side that beat a competitive Celtic side last night were, on average, a full 18 months younger than their opponents

Ha! This explains why those Scottish lads came across as sporting additional physique and looked older in general.

Good to see talent prevail over brawn.

They had some big kids didn't they?...I actually left impressed with Celtic...Never dropped their heads and battled with tenacity to win the match - throughout...Liked #7 (George) & #10 for them

Celtic Park is a beautiful stadium

The only thing midfielder Sergi Samper lacked was a big cigar.
