Probably the most talented young manager in Spain. Did amazing for Girona. Great appointment IMO.

Won't be surprised if he's being lined up as Pep's successor in Man City. A successful run with Sevilla would really raise his status.

I like him too but expectations will be much higher in Sevilla and we'll see how he'll deal with that. He also had 3 years to build Girona in Segunda and he kept majority of key players that already knew his system and just upgraded on some positions when they were promoted but he won't get nearly as much time in Sevilla if he won't succeed quickly.

Here is a possible lineup with their current team before the start of the transfer window.

According to rumours I assume they plan to make some big changes overall but I think they mostly need to invest in CBs for Machin's system to work, especially if Lenglet will leave. They'll probably also buy a new GK and I expect them to look for a striker who is good in the air to complement with Ben Yedder (and Muriel will most likely leave) but rest of the team looks quite good in this formation. At least on paper, we'll see what will happen on the pitch.

Exciting season ahead :)

Will be an interesting battle for 4th spot with Valencia looking to build on their recent success.

La Liga is an inexhaustible well of talent.

First summer signing for Sevilla. As expected they have executed 8M buy option on Roque Mesa who has signed until 2021.

They are selling 40% of their shares to USA investors. Thoughts?

Apparently they'll sell to Robert Kraft, owner of New England Patriots (NFL) and New England Revolutions (MLS). Don't like Pats but Kraft is a winner (well, and a cheater :p) so this could be a good move for Sevilla. Of course it remains to be seen how much he/his people will truly be involved in Sevilla.

Sevilla have signed CBs Sergi Gomez and Joris Gnagnon yesterday. Still think they are moving too slow on the market because they are already playing Europa league qualifiers against Ujpest today and defense, mainly CBs for Machin's 3-5-2 system were clearly their weak spot after Lenglet left and with Mercado and Kjaer still on vacations.

According to rumours they want to sign another CB (I've read they are interested in Harold Mokoudi, 20 year old CB from Le Havre) which means one or possibly both Pareja and Carrico will leave the club before the end of the transfer window and they'll have Kjaer, Gomez, Gnagnon, Mercado, new CB, Pareja/Carrico for CB positions.

Joaquin Correa is close to joining Lazio for around 20-25M and they are still looking for a new forward.

If that's true about Correa that's a bit of a blow for them.
