I do agree with that. I was kinda confused on whom to choose, but seeing my Man Utd brother staring at me, I opted to be on the safer side.

I had not seen Silva play since his move out of Italy except for few CL games. I wouldn't have much of a problem replacing him with Hummels.

the mention of Lahm is a big surprise for me. Little Philipp plays for 2 years clearly behind his top condition, not badly, however, also not world-first-class.

absolutely not. Hummel is one of the best central defender in Europe. He belongs to the best 11 of the year 2012.
