State of La Liga

This brings back memories of the whole debate they had last season on SKYSPORTS as to whether Barca would have been able to win the EPL.

It honestly pisses me off that some people would argue against our record last season. In my opinion, La Liga overall does not have as good a standard as the EPL, mostly that is due to soulless club owners pumping oil-money into clubs, but it still is true IMO. However, that doesn't mean that the Stokes and Hulls are suddenly transformed into Barcas and Reals. The idiot they had on SKY debating that Barca would not have done well in the EPL then went on to say that Barca couldn't break down a defence, and that they would have had trouble scoring away from home against the likes of Stoke who play all-defensive-all-the-time, and then he used our game against Chelsea as an example. Ofcourse the idiot forgot to mention that Chelsea has players that are countless times better than Stokes, and that even this Chelsea side conceeded a goal on their own home ground.

I believe that the middle and lower 'class' teams of the EPL are easily better and more competitive than those of La Liga, but that has nothing to do with the CL and overall quality of single teams.

It's such a hollow debate, as teams are built and developed on the style of their own league. You put most of the Prem teams in La Liga and the big, cumbersome defenders will get rings run round them. If you consider Vidic, one of the best CB's in the league, his main weakness are nippy players with quick feet and turn of pace. Pretty much the whole of La Liga is packed with players like that of varying degrees of quality. There are plenty of worse versions of Vidic throughout the Prem and they would all get found out even against lower sides in La Liga.

Good post Cal. You can't put say Barca and Real in the EPL and then Man U and Liverpool in La Liga and say, let's see who does best because it wouldn't work that way. You would need to put 10 La Liga teams against 10 Prem teams and see how that could work.

Yup, I made a thread about that debate. The whole thing was laughable, Jason Cundy-the idiot, was saying how Chelsea's way of playing is a now "a blueprint" of how to beat Barcelona and how stoke would match us and probably beat us. He was against Graham Hunter, who made him look absolutely ridiculous :lol::lol: towards the end of the "debate" Cundy realised he had clearly lost and started shouting over the top of Hunter, "The Premiership is better than La Liga, the Premiership is better!!". I was like :lol: what the fuck is this idiot doing on Sky? Hunter is a legend, he made the idiot look so bad, and of course I have his classic phrase from that in my Signature, :D :D

There are people that could argue the epl's case better than jason cundy. I'm sure someone like bergkamp would enjoy to have that debate.

Spanish football crisis

I don't know if any of you has been following the critical situation occurring at the moment in Spanish football i expect most people are so involved in the WC they didn't notice the current situation which affects Real Madrid , Barca,Seville and other big clubs .

As u might know the football rights of the above teams was sold to Mediapro for a lavish 150 Mil's a season (give or take few millions ) per club (seville and co earn much less of course ) ..

the previous rights belonged to AVS who just won a court case against Mediapro and the court ordered Mediapro to pay AVS 109 Million Euro and hand back the TV rights for the above mentioned clubs .
the situation and the court ruling triggered Mediapro to file for bankruptcy which in turn means most clubs won't be able to pay the players salaries in July needless to say buy any player .

the situation is very serious as AVS previously paid almost half what Mediapro was offering and with the death and liquidation of the rival , AVS could either pay what they think is right (around 1/2 what Barca & Real earned from mediapro ) or we go into another episode of games without TV broadcast.

needless to say this could be a long summer without transfers activities

Let's be honest I am not going to feel any sympathy for Real or Barca am I. Both those clubs have excellent teams already so really they should survive without any players coming in. If indeed they are relying on tv money.

But I do feel sorry for the sevilles, depors, espanyols etc that rely on this money not only for player transactions but to survive.

Real and Barca can survive this, thus I don't feel sorry for them. But yes the other clubs I feel enormously sorry for them

Oh so now it's ok for you not to feel any sympathy but when people laughed at lolerpool u cried in the forum and felt offended by lack of support from us ?
caught you with your pants down hypocrite
Actually in such conditions Real & Barca are the most vulnerable due to the huge wage bill and previous loans from both clubs .. small clubs can survive this with ease
the bigger you are the higher you fall.. u know that since you support Liverpool ;)

so the games might not be on tv is that what you are saying? and we lose money. i think teams as big as real and barca should have their own tv rights and sell them on don't you?

Which world were u living in my dear Hammy Salami ?

we do own our football rights and we are the ones who sold those rights to Mediapro which has filed for bankruptcy and the only current alternative is the old company AVS (the ones who won the court case ) which used to pay around 50/60 mil per season which in return means a current 100 Mil (give or take ) loss for each of Barca & Real based on the current deal .
