He was injured towards the end of that season.
In 23/24 he did not play because Liverpool did want to take a very very cautious approach due to his age in easing him back from the injury

Not really sure... I mean, 4M is a piss in Mississippi really (even though ffp is stopping us ) and he still has to go through the medical etc. It's not like we're buying a rabbit in a hat in a dark alley or something, dude has played a a couple dussin games for Liverpool and was great until his injuries - maybe Arne doesn't rate him, I don't know. But I do know if no injuries, Bajtetic's style of play and qualities fit us perfectly.
