I haven't seen much noteworthy improvement in mbappe's game over the last year. About 2 leagues lower compared to R9 at the same age. League below Messi/Maradona/Pele at the same age for that matter.

He also left his team. By chance, went to PSG, which is an attractive club. Unlike many others.

But he still plays in France.

Agreed. 21 goals & 9 assist only a few weeks after his 20th birthday isn't anything special. Clearly hasn't grown as a player despite this being his most productive season. Oh, and being a key member of a WC winning team? Every young player can do that.

Are you even a Brazilian or did you adopt French identity as well? No sane person who has watched R9 would even compare him with Mbappé. Let alone with Messi or Maradona. Nzonzi won the WC as well and even played in the final, so what? Capdevila won a European Championship and a World Cup as well.

You've lost the plot. Try again.

Talented players in France end up with 2 options. (1) play for PSG (2) leave the country. Can't improve the league that way.

I guarantee you he wouldn't get 21 goals and 9 assists in the same amount of games in La Liga or EPL.

Ah, Lyon doesn't exist either I see. And Monaco has never improved a player, hence their transactions record over the last few years.

Agreed. La Liga has never had prolific goal scorers.

Read post 106. Everthing has been explained in detail already and cannot be countered as those are all factual statements that results and history confirms as well as the present.

There are only 2 truly elite players in Ligue 1. One is called Neymar (the best of them) and the other is called Mbappé. The other noteworthy players are all great, good or above average players. Mostly all based in QSG with a few in Lyon. Then you have a lot of exciting talents who can either succeed or the opposite scattered around the league.

Your deluded idea of Ligue 1 magically having a Neymar and Mbappé at all 20 clubs and 100's of talents of Ndombélé's potential is what it is. Delusion.

Lastly Mbappé does not deserve to be mentioned alongside Messi, R9, Maradona or even Pelé. A World Cup win against Croatia (with all due respect to them) with a stacked French team is not going to change that. The level at this years's World Cup was very poor as well. Says everything when THAT England team was very close to reaching the final. Croatia was better than France for large portions of the final as well.

Spain flopped, Argentina flopped, Germany flopped even harder, Brazil flopped, Italy, Netherlands and Chile were not even there etc. A very poor World Cup. Belgium, Croatia and England in the semifinals.

The same Lyon which was selling its best player in the summer? Also, I see there are rumors about Fekir leaving as we speak.

Ah, I understand now. Liverpool and Dortmund must not be good either because they have histories of selling their best players.

Your posts are making more and more sense, sir.

After you sell your best players you either find ways to continue competing (like Liverpool did after selling Coutinho by reinvesting the money) or fail to (like Monaco did after selling most of their golden generation). But I bet that selling Fekir won't make Lyon any better.

Nor will the exit of one of its best players strengthen the league. Which was the point.

So Lyon doesn’t invest? I wonder how they got Ndombele in the first place... Or Bertrand, Memphis, Dembele, Mendy, Marcelo, etc. All those players that were on the pitch when they took 4 points against City.
