Both showed some of their skills recently. Who is closer to establishing his place in first team?

Thiago impressed me more. Quietly went about his business in the middle, which is a good start on the way to becoming a Xavi-esque playmaker.

I've voted for Thiago based purely on what I've seen of both in games at the Mini Estadi for Barça Atlètic, I think he's the more talented of the two.

Currently I don't think that anyone of them is closer or more far away from establishing his place into the first team, I think with time they both will. So my answer to your question includes both of them.

And as about them, it's obvious that Thiago will the be guy with the magic and the skills, while Jonathan will be the team player, doing more of the hard work. (although in Barca everyone should be a team player, but you know what I mean)

They're different, but their characteristics complete each other.

I voted jonathan. he played like he already belonged in the first team. I was very impressed.

yup. they're basically the young version of xaviesta. hopefully they link up as brilliantly.

didn't see JDS against Villarreal, but from what i've seen of both at youth levels, Thiago is ahead of JDS, He has been so throughout their careers in the masia, but pep seems to have a thing for JDS.

You can see the JDS is all Masia he has been there since he was a kid, while Thiago came when is was 14 so masia hasn't gotten rid of all his Brazilian tendencies.

JDS has a year on him but I think they are close to the same level. Thiago for me, can be a world beater but having seen JDS a fair bit i think he can definitely establish himself as a first team star.

i like thiago more as he looks to be a xavi like player but pep seems to like JDS so he is closer to being a mainstay with the big team than thiago

Anxiously waiting for the next match
thiago is more stylish which is why i think people think he is better

jonathan is class though calm on the ball and plays simple (like xavi)

both have what it takes to be in the team in the future

and thiago's brother rafa is even better

I like Thiago more but both are two totally different players totally different qualities. JDS is like Xavi more a passer, while Thiago is more like Iniesta a player who likes to dribble.

immaculately conceived
I voted other: namely both. I really like them both, can't really pick one as there are arguments for both players.
