Thiago Translantara

I find it weird that the press is so far advanced in these rumors yet neither Thiago nor the club have come out and said anything publicly. Was it similar with the supposed Sneijder transfer last year?

Pep kept on saying "we can fit all midfielders, everyone will get playing time" right after we signed Cesc two years ago. Pep wanted to play 3-4-3 and figuerd he can rotate the midfielders around and told Thiago and Managment that he'll get his chance. Thiago's father was smart enough to make Pep's word count and had him put it in writing. Now Pep is gone, Tito screwed up BIG TIME and we now lose a player loved by all Barca fans and too bad for Managment we are losing him for cheap. SO WHO's FAULT IS IT?

* Pep left and could care less just like he signed Ibra for a ton of money and let him go later.
* Tito takes alot of the blame for badly managing the team. If they say he was sick and all, I say Tito should have left. But Barca had no other plans.
* Love Thiago, him waiting around doesn't make much sense to me when he's BETTER than Cesc. Cesc better shine this year or the hate against him will go up through the roof!!!
* Tito is gone after this year and I am 99% sure of that. This is a transition year and don't count on many trophies as Neymar will adjust to our style.
* We all gonna remember this moment when we let go our best future star. This is really bad for Barca.

He may well succeed in the Premier League, but it might take some time to adjust to the pace of the game in England. He'll also have to adapt to technically inferior team-mates and a non tiki-taka playing style. He is a bit slack sometimes as well so he could turn out to be another Veron.

On the ironic side, if he leaves and Song gets more playing time, maybe even more double pivot, then that might actually increase the chance of the team winning the Champions League. And if it helps gives them the funds to complete a move for Thiago Silva and maybe another good forward like Lewandowski that could increase it even more.

Eleven players from champions Spain have been named in the UEFA technical team's 23-man all-star squad from the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, including player of the tournament Thiago Alcántara.

I watched the Tournament and Isco was better than him, he rarely lost possession where as Thiago did a fair few times and wasn't as slick, and no I am not butthurt about him possibly leaving.

Yup no one has been quoted about anything yet Thiago has already agreed personal terms lol. This deal isn't happening Thiago isn't going anywhere. He will get a new contract with more money and more promised playing time.

Thiago has been chosen as player of the tournament of the past U21 Euro. Montoya and Bartra also make the 23-man all-star squad. [uefa]3:26pm*- 21 Jun 13

I thought Isco had been chosen Golden bay of the tournament? Or is this a different thing?

OK, Thiago is already a very fine player, though not as good as Isco. #4 AM-CM at Barca now. Admit it, he is better suited for a faster, riskier, more wide open style of play. He does
need to play more now. Sergi Roberto can be #4 now. Plus Song.

great share. Apparently the price can definetely go upto 25 m plus for manu. But still they would go for it. He is worth much more than that.
If the article he posted is true then barca can hold on to thiago if they want because there is no way glazers are depositing money in his account for him to break his contract...It would still be a great deal for us if we can get him for around 20m

we will still get the same amount only the amount paid by manches will increase. A 40% as tax on the amount transfered to his account, then another 18 % tax on the transfer amount. Surely barca won't give that up in case of forced transfer. So we can hope that as manu has 70m of total transfer budget, they mightn't want to spend 30-32 million on the purchase of thiago.

But on the other hand, they are going to get paid a descent amount if rooney is sold.

Honestly speaking, thiago would be a perfect fit in the rooney role. He is kinda midfielder which barcelona has always missed. A natural goal scorer.

Did you meant MU? And no, Thiago isn't a natural goal scorer type midfielder I think or at least not yet known. He never given a role to lead our attack as he wish. He never given a role give a freedom to create his own chances and finish it often. Though I think he can be very good player behind the striker as a player that create chances a la Ronaldinho I guess. :D

All it comes down to is who will pay the taxes and how much, its a lot of lawyering and posturing, i dont think you guys will play too much hard ball we have always had good negotiations, i mean you got pique for £6m!! :D or the more expensive, hostile bayern route, which i dont think either of us want, of just paying the league for him. Similar thing happened with phil jones took quite a while to sort out the contract issues.

Is there any chance that he'd go to ManUtd on loan (to get more playing-time), or is a transfer the only thing Thiago is interested in?

There's always a chance, but didn't you think that way is indirectly say "You don't good enough kid, go learn the world works then back when you already good enough"?
And with Thiago's ambition that seems to be very high which understandable in his age plus his dad  they could take it as an insult. Because obviously what they think is "Thiago is good enough for Barca now but he didn't got amount of games he deserved".

That is what stopped us two years ago, he was more favourable to a loan, and last year we could of got him with a buyback clause - but what is the point in taking a player and developing him for a another big club - this year it seems he feels he wont get a chance for a few years and is favourable to a move.
