Eleven players from champions Spain have been named in the UEFA technical team's 23-man all-star squad from the UEFA European Under-21 Championship, including player of the tournament Thiago Alcántara.
I find it weird that the press far advanced in these rumors yet neither Thiago nor the club have come out and said anything publicly. Was it similar with the supposed Sneijder transfer last year?
Apparently Release clauses is different in Spain;

If the article he posted is true then barca can hold on to thiago if they want because there is no way glazers are depositing money in his account for him to break his contract...It would still be a great deal for us if we can get him for around 20mgreat share. Apparently the price can definetely go upto 25 m plus for manu. But still they would go for it. He is worth much more than that.

Honestly speaking, thiago would be a perfect fit in the rooney role. He is kinda midfielder which barcelona has always missed. A natural goal scorer.
Is there any chance that he'd go to ManUtd on loan (to get more playing-time), or is a transfer the only thing Thiago is interested in?
