Yeah I hope someday MLS will adopt the same format as all the other leagues, to me having playoffs is odd because it's easier for a lesser team to just get lucky and win a couple playoff games while still having been mid-table throughout the season. I mean it's fine in other sports but in football/soccer I'd rather it just be a single league table that ends with the champion being the team who's won the most games as opposed to just who did the best in the playoffs.

The MLS will continue to make its way towards the established methods of European leagues, do you have any idea what the league was like in its first few years? 1v1 breakaways instead of penalty shootouts, shot clocks, overtime during regular season games... To be honest I like having the playoffs, but I'd prefer the single table as well. Its all about easing Americans into the sport, right now its set up pretty similarly to hockey.

Lol like Basketball? Barcelona would have failed, badly.

I remember when MLS had hockey style shootouts and a downward counting shot clock, it was such a ridiculous joke back then. Anyway I'm not a huge fan of playoffs in football but I it's a necessary evil as most Americans would refuse to embrace a dual trophy format.

It's not unheard of either as the Mexican liguilla system that does a relatively good job of balancing football with North American sensibilities...obviously gringos would never want the Hispanic Apertura/Clausra system but I do think that MLS and the Mexican Primera should cooperate more as it could benefit both leagues. There seems to be a mutual distrust, which is funny because MLS has become increasingly traditionalized while the Mexican Primera has become increasingly Americanized over the years. Let's not forget these two aren't the first Barca legends to play on this continent...a certain Josep Guardiola spent a year playing for Dorados de Sinaloa.

Anyway good job on the Bulls, I hope Titi and Rafa can silence the critics in their first MLS playoffs and hopefully stop the evil LA Galaxy menace...would nice to see NY FINALLY win a serious trophy, plus their window is closing with only one more year before the Montreal Impact era begins.

Titi still injured, won't play in the first playoff game. He needs a full preseason to recover, he hasn't had one in years.

Barçapocalypse NOW!
The playoff thing might be a marketing/money thing too... I don't know the attendance averages of the MLS but a single league format might not prove profitable for all teams, because the lower teams or the ones in small cities would have little attendance by the end of the season... So the playoffs are a way of boosting interest in the league and attracting more people to go to the stadiums or tune the TV...

Is Rafa healthy?

Yeah Rafa has picked up a few knocks but nothing to keep him sidelined. He still gives the ball away like its nobody's business but he's also reads the game 100 times better than pretty much everyone else out there :D Even a few weeks ago the coach came out and said that neither would be fully integrated into the team until next season.

Why will it be epic? It's the biggest game in club football, I imagine alot of high profile people will be there.

Is Henry a club legend? I know he was amazing in the treble winning season but he didnt do much else, and he had a poor finish to his career here. Marquez yes, I agree with. Henry an Arsenal legend though.

Everyone in the treble winning squad is a legend, even Albert Jokera.
