Tito: "Barca showed character"

Yeah, Messi's second goal had nothing to do with anyone else, the team was just walking around at that point and he had to do all the work by himself.

You're missing the point. It took Messi to be introduced into the game for the rest of the team to start playing together and with any real hunger.

Tito picked up on the same sentiment because at the press conference he thought it opportune to remind that we were reliant on Messi even during Pep's reign.
And he is right but that still doesn't speak favorably about Messi's teammates nor Tito himself as a manager.

I like how he said that next season should be different. It's a nice change after blaming injuries, fitness and luck for the CL debacle.

Hope he really is intent on making some crucial changes.

I think at this stage, it is more than obvious that other teams have adapted better to our Tiki taka, just like the predator and pray relation on earth, we should also evolve out of our usual exact scheme. Keep the philosophy but change the current exact strategy. And obviously work on a plan b for overly defensive opponents as well as learning how to counter attack when it needs to be quick.

This season started off looking full of potential (apart from super cup) with record La Liga start etc.... we just couldnt avoid getting scored in, clean sheets became a myth, add that to a head coach having severe health issues and leaving a somewhat incompetent sub manager at the helm.

I cant blame Tito for all those losses, it was a group of reasons, nevertheless i will still sleep easy at night if he leaves in the summer.

I'm sure Flavia is right, the team will stick with Tito for next year. Objectively, winning Liga, getting to the semis of both CL and Copa are not reasons to prematurely end the manager's employment. Tito is talking about next season being different, he admits the need for significant change.

Now, does he have the imagination, guts and the backing from management to reshape the squad? I do worry that Tito caters too much to the established Barca superstars, rather than going with the players who are the best choices right now. Also, he has not shown the committment to developing the young players that was such a huge part of Pep's success.

The only rotation player who left last summer was Keita, and Keita made that happen. Song has replaced Keita, roughly at the same level. Pretending that Song could all of a sudden play CB was absurd, both Tito and management have to be blamed for that. Alba is a very fine, very Barca-type addition, but I think the jury is still out about whether he is too much like Alves, and whether the team can afford to field two offensive, tiny fullbacks against top opponents. I hope the changes coming up this summer are bigger and more successful.
