Tragedy of 2007-08

When I was reading about this season. I was amazed to see us fall off so badly after March and that made me question. What happened for our season to go into flames within a month. And why did we underperform with such a stacked squad

I recall Ronnie getting injured/not performing well/getting fat. Eto'o I believe was injured for a good part of the season too. These two were the key attacking players during that era of Barca. Thuram we purchased the season prior but rarely made an appearance during the 07-08 season. Rafa Marquez was injured a lot during this season too. Just all around the whole squad was in bad shape.

What's crazy is that we barely lost to prime Man Utd in CL semis that year. It was a close match at Old Trafford. Insane strike by Scholes to get them through to the finals on a 1-0 aggregate.
