David Silva? He has to be the most inconsistent and over-rated footballer in the Premier League. I'd say he drifts in and out of games but he usually stays out of them apart from perhaps 5 minutes throughout the 90, on a good day.

I wouldn't mind taking the road less traveled for CM help by signing someone like Siem de Jong if Thiago leaves (10 million euro rated). Quality player, prime age (24) and would bring some very important qualities (great set piece takes, great shot). He's already been a captain for his club in the Champions League and a full international. Barcelona should think more outside of the box with transfers and not simply go for the hot names. Players like Gundogan will generate a bidding war, and the money will get out of hand quickly.

I agree 100%
Especially with buying players from Ajax since both clubs play with the same philosophy. Not picking up Vertonghen last year was a huge mistake. I don't know if Siem would be the best buy because he is very similar to Cesc (can play False 9, not the paciest but solid vision/passing) but he is a quality player who would fit in easily. Marco v.Ginkel or Adam Maher would also be amazing to have. Defensively I would take Alderweireld over some of the others we have been linked to and with Abidal/Muniesa leaving Daley Blind would be a great replacement.
I really hope Thiago is given a new Barcelona contract and more playing time. As far as the future of our midfield any one of Isco (before he goes to Madrid), Maher, v.Ginkel or Gundogan would be great to have
