What does beating Arsenal prove above their position in the league?

The discussion isn't about Chelsea's position on the table though.

Chelsea has a much stronger squad than indicated by their position, and a good manager too. And if we learnt anything from 2012, the league form does not necessarily translate into CL.

Apart from our game vs Arsenal next tues am really looking forward to Juve vs BM.

I think Juve will run them close personally, but it's a fascinating tie this early in the knockout stage.

The league position and form of Chelsea is relevant to their current standard.

Nothing should be learned from 2012 other than shit teams can get very lucky and occasionally win the CL. Nothing back then was Chelsea being brilliant or even good in the CL and poor in the league.

Far from league form meaning nothing most teams doing well in the CL are doing well in the league also. Very few if any are mid table and playing well in CL and poor in league.

Safe prediction any team CAN beat another.

You think PSG are third best in CL?

They could be ,though that is a tough prediction
Right now Barca & bayern seem clear at the top 2 ,after that Atletico,RM,Juve & PSG are very close to each other levels .other clubs like the English trio could do some noise
It is all about peaking at the right moment.Won't be surprised if PSG got eliminated next game or won the whole thing tbf

Not just luck though, we bottled it. Which is why favourites dont always win and cl has never been won twice in a row. Some teams are stronger in cups than leagues though.
Real traditionally is like that, Liverpool and Milan as well for example. Defence and luck usually wins you cups. Thats why a team like Juve or Atletico could very well pull it off.

The point is Chelsea in 2012 were not in poor league form and great in the champions league. They were better in he league than they have been this season and still poor in the CL.

When have Liverpool or AC Milan been winning the CLs while in the bottom half of their domestic league?

The vast majority of teams that do well in the CL are at least in the top 4/5 teams in the league.

Teams dont just transfer from being poor in league to good in CL.
