you guys remember that he is made of glass? he is having great season without injuries but Juanjo Brau has enough work with Afellay, Fontas and Villa already

Where would he play?
RVP would not fit in our system,he is more a Messi-esque player in the centre and drops deep to get the ball.He would not be good on the wings because he doesnt track back and doesnt have Pedros and Villas work rate.He cant replace Villa on the left wing because he is a left footed player. So unless you want to replace Messi with RVP...
Well Villa doesn't fit into our system and he was actually doing ok . If villa (pure 9) learned to play on the wings what makes you think a faster and stronger player with better technique such as Van Perie wouldn't be able to . Not only this but we could also send Messi to the wings ( Just se we won't be too predictable all the time) and use Van Perie in the middle as a false 9. Not all games but some games would be nice . Pep had done it this season And it has worked. This is something Villa could never offer . Villa learned to Pressure why Persie couldn't ? Van Perie is better finisher than Villa. Villa lost his touch .

I think Messi and Van Persie up front will be amazing.
we don't play 2 strikers

RvP hasn't got Villa's work rate. Villa is definitely the better option among the two for wide forward role.

It is not feasible to buy a 28-29 year old when the investment would at least be around 30m. You can say we bought Villa, but Villa is a totally different case. A fan favorite among the Spaniards, great work rate, etc. made him more suitable. It'd be incredibly wrong step to opt for RvP

That's what they said about some guy who they called "Fiber Glass" in England . And he seems to be doing ok . Some people expected Fabregas to spend his first year injured but he's doing great. EPL is more physical, la liga is more technical , Van Persie would do just fine .

For a one dimensional "pure 9" or whatever, Villa's career assists per season are remarkably similar to Robin "Jesus Christ" van Persie.

I wonder if similar logic was used when the club thought 40M for Overmars was a great idea.

But Fabregas brought the injury curse

I agree with you guys, i prefer Villa at the wide forward role. But if you talk about who is better between Villa en Van Persie as a striker and footballer. I would prefer Van Persie. Maybe cause im Dutch.

Remarkably similar stats but RvP won't even come close to Villa!?

Who said that? If anything they aren't that far removed except one has pulled a disappearing act in his international career and plays for a system notorious for inflating its star players at Arsenal.

I just don't see any reason for paying Kaka-esque money for a guy having a career season. One year without injuries doesn't make him suddenly safe.

What you mean by "Villas wok rate" ? Could you elaborate more on this? How is Villa the better option on the wings? And Van Persie could even come free. He has one year left in his contract. If Barca wanted him and he wanted to come ( Which by the way he refers to Barca and the fact he always wanted to play for either barca or Arsenal before arsenal even signed him ) which it seems he does, I'm sure we could get a good deal.
