Vermaelen suffers calf injury

Belgian international defender Thomas Vermaelen suffered a calf injury at Barca's match at Vincente Calderon.
Vermaelen was replaced in the 27th minute of the game by Jérémy Mathieu.

Initial prognosis is 3 weeks on the sidelines.

It's sad because he is a likeable guy and was starting to play quite well and I'd never wish anyone such injury problems. Must be incredibly difficult and frustrating to deal with.

Hopefully a quick recovery for him.

It's a minor injury, kinda, so I'm not worried yet.

I think the only positive thing out of this at least it wasn't his Hamstring, he has had problems with his thigh for years and he finally got it fixed. I hope he comes back stronger and Healthier!

Can't say I'm surprised. Hopefully he gets fit soon. But I doubt we'll be able to count on him consistently throughout a season.

Then again, he played many matches in a row because of Pique's suspension. Might not happen again.

Well,prognosis is that he is gonna be out for 3 weeks ,only half of that time passed
