Vitor Roque (loaned to Real Betis)

Seems like Barca are losing ground on him now.

Never mind.. will still have a a 35 year old striker on huge cost to books and can sign a 34 year old to back him up and sign 36 yea old to play behind him.

Squeeze in a 32 year old CB an almost 33 yr old midfielder for free also after renewing 35 year old DM and be set for future!

Try and spend what money have on a bang average defensive clogger at RB in Foyth... top stuff.

Probably try to sell Christensen and FDJ to raise some cash while at it.

That would be our harikiri scenario. Fight tooth and nail to lower the wage bill and average squad age through levers... only to then replace it with even older players plus interest. So let's hope that all these are pure paper talks amidst a boring (not for you as I assume your Scottish) international break.

Did read though that we are looking at Auba returning while Chelsea are looking to replace Auba with Vitor Roque. Which would be megaLOL.

Tebas dream. Impose stringent salary cap which forces all young talent to every league but La Liga. Well unless you are Real Madrid.

His dad is doing his due diligence and meeting interested clubs in London, he will meet Barca stuff after them.
Not sure why this is considered news or doom day stuff? No representative of a highly rated prospect will allow only one club to negotiate, when they know already they are unlikely to be the one with best financial offer anyway.

It was always going to be Roque having to accept that Barca offer being lower than others, while club will need to both offer him competitive financial offer and good sporting project (second one is a bit easier btw)

Haven't heard about his guy till now.
Checked his highlights and he looks like a mix of Depay and Malcom.
He rarely scores from inside a box and majority of his shots are Ansu Fati-style/illogical where you have no clue whether he is the biggest genius on Earth or is scoring the most luckiest goals ever.

Why so much fuss about him?

Fair point.

We have a need to get a future striker with limited options on the table. I do wonder if we would be jumping into this option too based on the hope of nailing it.

BTW (unrelated to you BBZ), Endrick hasn't scored a goal in 12 or so games since joining Madrid. Signing these youth talents is a marathon not a sprint.

Regarding Barca and signing young players, these are our last transfers of players younger than 23:

Ferran Torres, 55m
Trincao, 31m
Dest, 21m
Frenkie, 86m
Firpo, 23m
Pedri, 18m
Malcom, 41m
Arthur, 31m
Dembele, 140m
Semedo, 36m
Mina, 12m
Andre Gomes, 37m
Paco, 30m
Digne, 16m

Only Pedri and De Jong are good signings.
Others are flops or so-so like Dembele.

So, signing youngsters is a marathon.
But a marathon where only 10% of runners finish the race.

About this Vitor guy, I don't see anything "wow" about him.
Except our desperation.

He scores headers and tap ins just like any other striker.
He is a fairly athletic, relentless striker with good finishing, those are the making of a starting caliber no 9 for big club if they translate into higher level.
The if part is true for every player who hasn't played in top level yet, regardless of skill set or position, there is always a question mark about any players at the big stage.
Also, Roque isn't a new Ronaldo or Rivaldo type of potential, as I said his potential isn't that high, but worth the investment.

Catalan press now going with the 'cant afford him' argument but as usual he 'wanted Barca'.

Never mind can spend 10s of millions on players in their 30s instead.
