I'm not sure what the laws are in Brazil or Spain, but in the US, he would be on the hook for life, unless he was in a state like Florida and Texas, who end it after 10 years or after she remarries.

I actually checked it, in US you aren't actually hooked for life at all, though that is based on google answer.
Only paid a sum for how long they think it compensate for career sacrifice. Few months in most cases, for life in extreme cases (a wife that had stopped working for a decade or more, when it is presumed she will never be able to compensate for the career gap) and even then it is a decreasing sum.
In Roque case if the same laws applies, then they have been only married for a year, and she is an influencer who likely makes above average money for that.
She will get absolutely rich from the contracts he signed, but he will be of the hook as quick as his marriage

He got absolutely manhandled by Araujo and Pau yesterday but that was to be expected. Hope he can score a few more in Liga so we can scam some PL team.

For what exactly a man is paying in this case. The entire point of alimony is to provide for children, if they stay with mother. You want to tell that a woman can seduce random men into marrying them, the force a divorce and extract money along the way? I knew the modern laws are retardedly feminist, but come on, this can't be real. There is literally no justification for woman to get any money, especially after SHE asked for divorce.

Gender makes no difference in spousal matters. Seduce a breadwinning lady, sacrifice your career for house and children, divorce and sue for alimony.

First you gotta become an immigrant and move to the US. Somewhere blue.

That is child support, alimony is for the spouse, not the children.

Why should spouse get anything just because she was a spouse? What's the legal justification? It's basically debt slavery for men, despite owing nothing.

The idea behind it is to accomodate for career sacrifices. If a woman is a stay at home mom for 25 years for example, kids are now adults (so no child support) and the husband leave (or became toxic, so she file for divorce) how is she going to live or restart her career? She made that career sacrifice with the idea that his work is hers too. Even if there was no kids and she was the one taking care of the house, it is still sacrifice.

It all stems from the idea that there is no "his/her" money when married, it is both their work and their money, and if it is broken, both parties finalize divorce with the idea to compensate for the broken marriage.

I am not saying it is right or wrong btw, it isn't the system here for example, and in general it feels a bit outdated system and can be unfair. Although, there is no way to make a system that is fair all the time.

The divorce from a silicone babe/golddigger is bad PR, but more important is his performance on the pitch. He's been mediocre for Betis so far and it's unlikely to change. Doubt he will ever play for Barca again.

Betis in the last decade could easily be labelled as "Barca rejects".

Needs to go full heel now and marry Wanda Nara.

Why do Footballers get married so early?

I swear most 22 year old Footballers get married and start a family.

Marriage is amazing with the right woman but can be a huge pain in the ass for life if you pick the wrong partner.
