This guy will be ok he maybe should have scored both those chances but honestly it's about what he can do vs the big teams that will make or break him. If he gets a goal vs RM in Supercopa that would be a good sign.

He's coming in mid season in a new league at 18 years old in a team that is currently a dysfunctional mess.

The two times he was subbed on he was under serious pressure from the get go and is expected to bail us out due to how God awful our finishing is in our front line.

Dude deserves to play a game without having to feel like he has a gun pointed to his head for him to score immediately off the bench.

Guys like Lewa, Ferran, Felix, Raph need to help a brother out in this case.

At 18 even Mbappe was not a good finisher....in Vitor we trust and he has one of the greatest goalscorer in this generation as teacher!

Mbappe had freakish pace, great dribbling, footy IQ and big game mentality. It's a travesty to mention 18 year old Mbappe in the same sentence as the Brazilian Memphis.

Also, RL9 ain't teaching him shit. He hates his teams having backup strikers and sharing any minutes/playing time with others. You can't teach people instincts anyways.

Rasmus Hojlund had played like a walking meme and Utd fans are still supporting him.

Darwin Nunez hasn't been able to hit a cows backside with a banjo for months and Liverpool fans still sing his name the loudest.

Barca fans are already questioning Vitor after playing less than 90 minutes and missing 2 chances.

At this point you have to ask whether the fans deserve any success at all.

Yeah true, we need to give him 2 seasons until we can judge about him

His pace definitely helped Mbappe but in terms of dribbling difficult, i remember when ppl called him Pace merchant, ofc this word was overreacting but most of the time he just outrunned his opponent. He scored a nice goal agaisnt argentinia but overall he started to deliver in big games after his hattrick in Camp Nou and that was in 2021 when he was 22.

RL9: 'Let me play so you can learn by seeing' :lewa:

Context mate.
It is about great players missing such chance at young age being normal, finishing is usually a skill that develop with time, although clearly not for everyone.
Mbappe was a beast, true. Still missed sitters, also true.
Benzema missed sitters till he was 30, Messi wasn't great finisher till he was 21, CR7 cost Portugal a Euro at the age of 19 thanks to inability to finish 1 vs 1 chance in Euro finals.

Eto talked about it when he was talking about Messi, that he told him that there will be a point when he figure "it" and start scoring ton of goals. Happened with Messi in 2008, happened with Ronaldo two years prior and the list goes on and on.

That isn't comparing Roque to those, it is a clarification of the trajectory of most scorers.
Roque actually has both the mentality and the oq of a great striker, if he gets "it" then he is going to be a top 5 or 10 number 9 of his time. Which is solid enough.

Sounds like missing sitters in young age is a good sign you will become one of the best :pique:

Its a pity that Ansu was a fantastic finisher when he was young.... :( @soul24rage

Nunez was and is still questioned by Liverpool fans, same for Hojlund. It's just normal to point out what happened (and it doesn't stop Vitor from becoming a great player or not, we're just saying what happened)
He had bad touches and missed sitters in his brief stint but that can be improved when he gels with the team and overcomes the pressure (nothing more to read into, and we're not questioning him, just saying what happened).
We would've been praising him if he scored, and would praise him when he performs well, which should be very soon.
