In reality noIn Rijkaard's days for those who were already FC Barcelona's fans back then ?
Imo, you're wrong. Eto'o with Ronnie used to dribble, you just have to check his goals. It was more a Neymar Mbappe connection. They were like the messi Suarez of that team. They complemented each other extreamly well. Etoo never had to dribble although a very good player with dribbling and ronaldinho never worried about having to score.. they just complemented each other like a Ying and yang. Obviously ronaldinho at his prime is one of the best players of all time so to say he has more value doesn't say much.
For how good a dribbler he is he rarely relied on dribbling .. he was focused 100% on running behind the lines . Etoo is nothing like neymar or mbappee .. those players like the ball on their feet. Etoo is like prime Michael Owen and prime Suarez etc.. they are not interested in balling, they have excellent spacial awareness and impeccable timing in making the runs.. etoo was onside 95% of the times . When u have iniesta xavi ronaldinho (later messi) behind u u really don't need to dribble .Imo, you're wrong. Eto'o with Ronnie used to dribble, you just have to check his goals. In his 1st Barcelona's seasons (2004-2007) he was a very good dribbler and more impressing than Mbappe, same in his Mallorca's days and in his last season with Inter Milan. When Dinho and him were on their prime especially from 2004-06, Eto'o liked the ball on his feet. For how good a dribbler he is he rarely relied on dribbling .. he was focused 100% on running behind the lines . I have watched etoo since he was 19 or so (Olympic team with cameron).
With the inter team and national team and even Mallorque he adjusted himself and took on more leadership and ventured a lot more to dribble.
I'm not comparing them, Eto'o is sold as the second fiddle of Dinho while in 2006 he was considered as the best player of the club even ahead Dinho. I just wanted to have an opinion of those who live for the club to know if it's only an impression of those who aren't really FC Barcelona's fans.Eto'o is underrated here and from Barca fans in general.
But this comparison is silly.
Different profiles, positions, and complementary traits.
Why compare them like that?
