Would you tolerate shamefully bad behaviour, as long as he makes your team win?

How important is your players' image and behaviour to you?

Totally hypothetical question I know, and it will never happen in the case of Messi.

But for research purposes only, I want to know how far would you go to win? Or in this case: Allow one of your teams prized players to go?

If possible let us know how much you would tolerate, eg. Hand gestures to fans, Spitting, Swearing, Fighting etc (the full Joey Barton).

Zero tolerance. Maximum (financial and other) punishment from the club, in addition to whatever the governing body decides.

Obviously it's different if we're talking about the likes of Suarez and Barton, who have extreme and recurring incidents, or just someone who has a bad temper and gets into an occasional argument. But generally, I'm all in favor of clubs punishing their own players for every slightest form of blatantly bad behavior.

Call me old-fashioned, but I put respect and dignity above all else.

I'm a Liverpool fan so the Suarez thing is already specific to me. At this point I wouldn't mind if he left. I "defended" him after the Evra thing but this is just ridiculous. It makes the club look bad. Unfortunate circumstances when it's also the club's best player.

I will support whatever club decide, if club want to sell the player because it damage the reputation, fine by me. If club decide to keep the player because the importance of player for the team then I'll support it too.

As supporter I have my own favourite player such as Rivaldo, Overmars, Ronaldinho, Messi, Villa, Puyol, and others. But as few players left the club I've learned the players come and gone but the club will still remain. So I didn't vote for any options because my preference isn't there. :beer2:

I love what Barton is doing, he's entertaining and great on twitter too :D

But if it was a Barca player who did it I'd definitely be annoyed

Would not tolerate it at all, I really dislike people acting like that and I don't care how many goals they haul in, the image of the club is more important.

Messi's too boring to do something like that. He's too much of a goody two shoes.
