But the best center back in the world and one of the key players of a young, upcoming side is really realistic, right?

definitely far more realistic than Ramos. especially if mourinho leaves.
As for hummels, if klopp and robert also leave, bvb will likely have to rebuild again, and hummels could be sold, if not this year -the following season.

I'm going to sound like a broken record but I don't care...
More than half of our problems could have been solved by signing JAN VERTONGHEN of AJAX last summer. Ajax is our partner club... same philosophy, same style of play. If we have to go outside la Cantera then Ajax is where we should look first. Song has proved that he is a quality player and he does belong at Barca but whoever decided to sign him over Vertonghen is an idiot.
I'd like any of the big names but chose Reus because he can play anywhere in our front 3, has pace, technical ability and a thirst for goals. At nearly 6 feet tall and all his technical ability he could be a very versatile threat in a toothless attack (aside from Messi)

Hummels is slow as hell.. We need a fast, strong and agile defender next to Pique who can clear dangerous situations. We need a new Puyol, a new Kolo Toure of 2000-2007..
Hummels is a far cry from that and will make a terrible partnership with Pique..
Thiago Silva is much better, but again not that fast, not that agile. He has a lot of similarities with Pique. A ball-playing CB from the back.
Two copies of the same thing will not work. The same story with David Luiz. (inferior to both pique and Thiago Silva by the way)
Even Mascherano can play the ball-playing defender role. We need pace, agility, strength in one at the back..

Hummels is very average when I've seen him play. Its scary thinking we might actually sign him. I hope Tito mans up for once and pulls out of that deal.
