I tried to look up when the last time was that Japan had to go up for penalties and I legit cant find it.
Last one on record is 0-0 vs Paraguay in R16 in 2010. Seems like there's a good chance most of these players have never taken a penalty on big stage

I wouldnt be surprised if this is what Dalic is banking on considering history in the comp, but taking off Modric and Kova is puzzling in that scenario

There was just no power on any of those Japanese penalties. It's like they'd been practising shaping to hit it in one side but then going the other in training but it only fooled the keeper once.
