Di Maria is not a burden, who said that? I said he is the only one creating except Messi. You fail to understand that players have roles in a team. De Paul does exceptionally in covering for Messi taking chances with risky balls for example. He is expected to run his lungs off because that is what he can offer. Messi can't offer that since many years ago. But it is about the balance. And Messi in the balance of things does his part to great success for their team.
On the contrary, Portugal has many creatively and defensively young and talented players. Trying to force Ronaldo on that team, does harm them. Like it did united.
