Looks fresh. Knowing now how relaxed the life can be without being Barca's coach i doubt he will come back :pique:

I know he didn't do well as Barca coach, but as a player he is the best midfielder I have ever seen (and I remember Matthaus). Just supreme how he dominated the midfield week in week out and everyone who played Barca was forced to admit they were inferior in terms of possession and ball dominance - mainly because of him.

Terrible. Only 1 big title in 2 completed seasons.

Yeah I know, but by all accounts the team only just got over the line that season in terms of performances (not points). Didn't they win a lot of games 1-0 and rely on Ter Stegen making many saves? Xavi got found out the following season.

Anyway the general consensus seems to be that Xavi wasn't good enough as Barca coach, and he's essentially been let go now, so there's no need to cling on to the notion that he was a good coach. If he had been a great coach for Barcelona he'd still be there now.

He was an amazing player but so far in his managerial career, he has made a lot of mistakes (admittedly hampered by Barca's situation). I am surprised by that as he was such an intelligent player, but it seems to be the case. You have to accept it. You can't just cling on to the Liga he won and not look at the elimination in the CL and then to Man United, as well as the second season in La Liga.

We will see what Flick can do for you now.

The team in that season created most chances and conceded the least chances. So... not mainly down to Stegen making saves but the team being the best in most relevant systemic metrics. Check it up, deserved title, much like Madrid last year. All the data verifies this easily.

Of course the team had ups and downs under Xavi, and that he made mistakes. That doesn't mean his 2 seasons as a whole were bad. How easily people jump from A to B is hilarious.

Same thing is gonna happen under Flick most likely. There are gonna be good periods, and bad periods, and the team has to use the good form to get titles against very difficult rivals, and use the bad stuff to get motivated to bounce back.
