Simeone's record against Barcelona:
37 games
5 wins
11 draws
21 losses

This is their 5th loss in a row.

Barcelona regularly beats them without having to do much. It's incredible really.

The way Atletico always just bends over for Barca is embarrassing. Simeone’s record against them in La Liga is FBI investigation worthy!! @Morten @Blanco @NKMaribor

Regardless of W/D/L record, my recollection is that these games (along with Athletic Club) are generally among the toughest games for Barca each season. No matter the scoreline, they are always grueling physical trench warfare, never walks in the park.

You are throwing rocks in a glass house, At Madrid just took the FIFA club world cup spot from FC Barcelona and the 50 million price check for qualifying. Also, they are almost qualified for Champions league football for the 12th consecutive season. Simeone may be the highest paid manager in the world, but he is also the cheapest manager in the history of At Madrid, their revenue has quadrupled since he arrived. The club has earned several billions on the back of him keeping the club constantly inside the top 4 in the Spanish league.

That kinds of logic reminds me of the Wenger apologists when Arsenal had become (post 2004) a team that cared only for top4 EPL finish (doable back then), and CL money
and at the same time, they were not winning a thing, getting ridiculed in europe, and acting like a farming academy of developing talents that their competitors would poach and integrate into winning teams

There is more to it than the financial aspect. Atleti hierarchy have no balls and guts. They should have sacked him long time ago, thanking him for what he did for their club. But football evolves, and does not care for legacies
