Honestly I'd be okay with even letting Marquez stick around for a year if they don't want Flick and want to wait a year to try to entice Klopp or someone else.

But they need to make the right signings in that case which means a proper CDM and if they want a LW sign a proper winger with pace and 1v1 ability and not a pseudo-midfielder like Olmo.

Agreed if it was the door way to Klopp. But I have no faith in this board following through with that notion and planning so far ahead.

If a manager is aligned 100% with Laporta and Deco's version though, then I am for it. Even if it is Sergio Conceicao because atleast we are building a project everyone is aligned with.

Seems this year we have been stuck between Deco with one direction and Xavi with another, and then with a dash of Mendes meddling in.

We might eventually luck into a great manager, but if you spend your scarce resources on the wrong players/profiles it's tough to bounce back from that.

With a manager like Klopp, talks need to start right now. With these hotshot managers, you really need to put in an effort to get them.

What's this we can't trust the much to sign the right player? What's the bad signings we've had since they took over?

Raphinha
Kounde
Christensen
Gundogan
Cancelo
All very good signings.

Lewa
Good.

Only bad signings have been Torres and romeu.

If we have money I'm sure they will sign a good fit for DM.

Our two biggest holes in the team for years have been a LW and CDM, both we have failed spectacularly to fill up, and those two position remains priorities for us going forward. I guess RB too where Kounde unintended became a very good option for us. Spent years trying to get that right too.

So no, I don't trust them fully, yet at least. Especially with strong reports about Dani Olmo being their LW solution...

Xavi was literally crying to get a DM (Zubimendi). And then settled for Romeu. Hardly his fault.

Not trusting them to fill the position, is a different thing from not trusting them to pick the right player once they choose the position to fill.

We've been linked with Olmo for years now doesn't mean much.

plus as it relates to players, given the names I listed and how a large percentage of the forum felt about they, compared to how good are.

I think if they signed Olmo it's going to be another Kounde and Raphinha situation.

I'm not sure I trust them with that either, but we'll see.

It's not that Olmo is a terrible player. He's a good player, that is injury prone too it seems. It's just that he makes no sense whatsoever profile-wise for us unless he's taking over Pedri's role.

He's not a LW, and definitely not the type of LW we need.

Yea Olmo wouldn't be a ideal signing, we need someone with Pace

I think the Olmo talk is all paper talk TBH,I think his father represents Faye.

if we get money they'll go hard on a DM and give deco free rains to sign whoever he wants.

We will see if deco is better than Xavi and Alemany as identifying talent, they did a good job at that while they were here.

The previous signings were made by the trio of Alemany, Crujif and Xavi. Non of those will be making the new signings.
The scouting department remains the same, but those aren't the decision makers.
In the end, we don't know yet if we trust them or not because we don't know how good the current ones.

Can't believe people are still discussion about the holes in our squad, as if this is the issue...
Seghei-ism has infected the discussion.
It has been answered a million times already.
If you don't see by now that the coach is the issue, you will never see it

PS: Yes, there is a big hole, ghost walking at the 9 position. But that hole was brought in using 55m levels, personal choice of our incompetent manager, and his choice to start in the XI every game.
So it doesn't count as an excuse

I know Raphinha has been good lately but I think we would be a better team if we would have spend that money on Zubimendi instead.

How many times do we need Zubimendi to reject us? He is loyal to Sociedad and most likely will move abroad.

Without Raphinha our attack is mediocre at best, at least this year.
