They did try for Navas but he chose Madrid. They have signed Oblak from Benfica (who is also great) for a reportedly higher fee than Navas' buyout clause so money wasnt an issue for them. Navas just chose to sign for Madrid.:)angry:)

Where does it say he chose Madrid over AM? He even expressed interest at joining the latter, but at no point did they really make a serious push for him. Just media rumours and fans' match-making attempts. For a club like AM, Oblak is a better investment, both sporting and fin. wise. As for Navas, he can easily dislodge the current Iker, and Lopez, becoming the #1 for one of the best clubs in the world. So why shouldn't he join them if there weren't any better offers to consider? Also, being #1 for Madrid, didn't prevent most culers to admire and respect Iker for years. So why is it diff. to Navas, who apart from being a great player, is a character sans pretension, and genuinely likeable.
