Because of what they were doing last season. I expected them to grow and profit on their experience. City was likely on the downwards curve this season, but not to the extend they are currently, which is quite mind boggling. Chelsea, for example, are currently in the spot Arsenal were 2-3 years ago IMO. Young squad gaining experience.
I expected Liverpool to need some time with Slot, but credit to them, he has them cooking. And they likely won't stop.

Well, the only top side in the league you beat is shite this season and got 4-0ed by Tottenham. Madrid played a weakened side with key players injured. You drew 0pts Leipzig from pot1 in CL as your most difficult match. Some very fortunate events. Not that you don't look good, you can only play what's in front of you.
