That’s the truth, he is a decent manager but not Barça level. Look at the camera in half time at Anfield, his instructions were “once we’ve got the ball, we move a bit inside, we hook up with Leo,” Definitely no sign of Messidependencia here. Just cause he is doing well in Bilbao doesn’t mean he was any good in Barcelona, giving stale football and relying on the individual brilliance of one man is not Barça level to say the least.

As someone who railed and got annoyed with Valverde at times during his time here, I'd say he was a good solid manager.
The problem we had was that our core players were getting older and complacent and it festered an environment that made a lot of those guys untouchable regardless of their performances. And we made a number of transfers that didn't pan out.
He'll probably enjoy the idea of having a team like ours. Sure, it doesn't have Messi, but it's a good young group that isn't ruled by massive egos and there's a lot more flexibility in it as well.

Personally, that was the best version of Messi. Week in week out delivering, crazy goals, assists, free kick goals(scored 18 free kick goals in 18-19), dribbles.. Mister ruined invincible season and bottled 3:0 lead. I would never forgive him. Fuck the squat asshole

I read this question every second week here.
With 99% of the coaches we would be 10 points behind Real now, out of Copa vs Atletico and probably struggled to get into top8 in cl groupstage. So alone to have the chance to dream from the treble while playing best MSN-football without MSN is reason enough to keep him even if dont win any titles this season. I dont think anyone here really want him out.

Funny in retrospect how last year I thought that Xavi was the best manager for Barça and that no manager can do what he did with this squad. I actually thought he was the only guy for the job and other managers wouldn’t do as well as he did, very odd observation but I guess this is what fanboyism and delusion gets you to.
