9 - Robert Lewandowski

A fine performance. A lot of people (myself included) have been overtly critical about this fella. He is doing a terrific job this season. Should get his customary hat-trick against a piss-poor BVB side (who are now probably even worse now that Kovac is their new coach) and Barca should steamroll to the semis. Then against Bayern or Inter.... it doesnt matter, I dont really see either side giving much trouble to Barca. The final? Yup, it finally happens.... El Classico. Real will no doubt make their way there.

Not even sure why I was so critical of him. I was probably being too harsh, talking about his all-round game. I have seen him do well in general play this season too.

I think maybe all the fanboy worship by some in here just made me go the other way. I am something of a contrarian. But I will give him his due now and if he has a bad game in future, I will be balanced in talking about it.
I like the word "contrarian". I think, I see it for the first time in my life. It sounds very Latin and it is phonetically pleasing. Thank you for showing it. I'll sure use it.

If I had a time vehicle, I'd travel to Ancient Rome and tell them about football and Robert Lewandowski.

Robert Lewandowski was chosen MVP.
It pleases me greatly.

He was lively today. It does please me nicely to see how joyful he is after getting goals. The happiness level appears much higher than at Bayern but the competitive nature of La Liga is adequately higher too.
If this club wins big this season: that would be at least constituted by La Liga title + the appearance in the CL, I'd consider this as his 2nd ever best season, he's going to get a large portion of the credit. If treble, then even better than the one at Bayern in 2020 because that one was odd due to covid: empty stadiums, different form of knockouts etc.

Huge + is his work ethic and positive influence on the youngsters! He'll probably be able to maintain the same level next season.

2 pikachus in a row. Not too shabby! 👴😎

You mean his abs? I don't see him work hard on the pitch.

Said his statistics are same as in previous years (hinting at questions about his age). Suppose he doesn't count kms ran/pressing.

Should have had a hatrick. Was kinda annoyed with Yamal or the team not servicing him. The guy was clearly in a better shooting spot, but Yamal had to try and score rather than pass to him.
We all have been critical off him, because of his dip in "form" during our dip: Nov - Jan.
If he does his job, that being him being the man in box scoring the tapin, and doing it stellarly, like the last couple of matches.
I think he deserves every accolade.

He really surpassed most people's expectations, though a lot of his redemption arc also coincides with the team's comeback and ultimately Flick. Crazy numbers for his age too, hope he gets the Pichichi/European boot while he helps the team to win something important this season.
