Again i'll point out Mikel Rico Moreno tried to hack him down. You are saying it like this isn't Messi who does all he can to stay up.

This is an overlooked bit of the goal, but Rico Moreno I believe it is, clearly tries take Messi down before he gets into the box, he takes a large kick at his legs, but Messi doesn't flinch. Many would certainly have gone down.

Probably happens more because the bigger teams are getting relatively more and more money compared to the smaller teams which leads to some teams being able to field 2nd teams stronger than others firsts. Therefore more rotation therefore more match fit players ready for all competitions.
