    Memphis Depay

Yeah I was against the transfer before it happened and never saw any reason to change my mind. Collado came on for Granada yesterday, and looked pretty competent. I guess he'd be available for Barcelona if Depay was not signed... This was what I wrote after the transfer was done, 16th of July...

    Mavericky Puig

https://twitter.com/cityreport_/status/1478362374503600131/photo/1 I am not sure there would be a lot of need for Puig at Man City though, they have been managed well for a long time and have a good squad with their own youngsters coming through too. But it would be less surprising to me than...

    Memphis Depay

He was targetted 21 times in his 30 minutes, managing to recieve it 9 of those times (42,9%) Abde who played the same minutes was targeted 19 times and recieved it 12 times (63,2%) Other than them, there are: 3 players in 70-79% 1 player in 80-89% 4 players in 90-99% 4 players on 100% He...

    Xavi Hernández

I liked your posts about "global warming" but I dislike this one. Busquets is crucial and impossible to replace, should stay as long as possible. Pique is hit/miss but was good yesterday. He should be phased out. Alba was pretty terrible lately though and might be replaced soon (Cucurella or...

    Mavericky Puig

Nah it's not about resting him obviously. I could see Xavi choosing Sanz over Puig after the red because he thinks he is more solid. I think it was wrong and wrong in a structurally bad way - I thought Xavi would have a deeper understanding of football, but the reasoning he did looks shallow to...

    Xavi Hernández

Is his squad better or worse than Granadas? Does he have any reason not to use his squad to it's fullest? Is it someone elses fault that his subs made the team worse? Is it the players fault for mistaking Xavis subs and his waving backwards for an instruction to move backwards rather than...

    Mavericky Puig

There was a lot of Newman energy in his "everyone to the Puig thread" comment and later behaviour. Earlier too.

    Mavericky Puig

I think it could've been the right move there too. The bold move, that he could've gotten away with too, would've been to rest Depay again btw. Dembele, who had a terrible game, was at least offering SOMETHING, and it could be more so when down to 10. Just checking some statistics after Xavis...

La Liga | Round 20: Granada - FC Barcelona 1-1

And that is with some of the players being obviously told to shoot on sight. The xG isn't influenced by it being terrible dembele trying once again, these shots are added to that value too.

    Mavericky Puig

Yeah, looked like it would've been a good sub. Then there was an option after the red, but Xavi chose Sanz instead, saying after the game that "we had to control the game. Alvaro doesn't lose balls and we needed him." Sanz played 2 passes and no he didn't lose the ball. I don't know if he did...

La Liga | Round 20: Granada - FC Barcelona 1-1

Depay tried 10 passes and succeeded with 6, so he was lower in percentage than usually. He also looked a bit more like a fat turtle than a disco-trained street player, he wasn't very useful in any way.

La Liga | Round 20: Granada - FC Barcelona 1-1

Disappointing and depressing. Xavi is most at fault for still allowing his team to become afraid in the last stages of games. His subs were bad - Luuk played decently and what's more, he deserved more minutes. Depay looked like a ghost of his own, actively terrible self. Abde for Jutgla was...

La Liga | Round 20: Granada - FC Barcelona 1-1

And that 2 of the 3 midfielders hadn't even seen pubes in 2012 May a person dream about a Puig false 9 this game? I am going into a depression if Depay gets minutes today and then begins to start each and every time again...

    Mavericky Puig

He wouldn't be a poacher or compete with Luuk or even Neymar on crossing conversion ability lol, but I think he could play well as a false 9, timing when to meet or when to run in behind. I would really like to see it, but unfortunately Depay is already back it seems, and Xavi seemingly lives...

    Mavericky Puig

Thought your mention would be in this thread, but instead it was in the music thread for that terrible song, which I don't know why you'd relate to me!? Riqui Puig could play in any position but the defence - I don't think he'd be a good full back like Sergi Roberto. But MC, OMC, winger or...

    Xavi Hernández

I agree completely, there are psychological boundaries that needs to be breached. I think it can take time but that Xavi should be the best possible person to help the players reach a better mental state. So far, it goes slower than I expected, but I still see some progress.

    Mavericky Puig

Yeah with that video, although the clips was too often cut early, I realize that I too was a bit dramatic about his mistakes yesterday. I like his style and intuition, but I am really not full of patience for any players mistakes. I think I am partly to blame for Puig being put under the looking...

    Mavericky Puig

Yeah, I didn't like what I saw from him, or his team mates, or his coach, in the first half. If I am partial towards Puig, I'm at least as much partial towards Busquets, Alves and Xavi, and I am very much fond of Nico, Garcia and Alba, too and have nothing against the other players who played...
