CL quarters: Atletico - Barca (3-2 agg)

I'd like to know what was Messi's reasoning behind his play, but almost everybody was off yesterday. Even Bizkits usually so reliable was all over the place. I think less running was a symptom of some deeper problem rather than a cause.

CL quarters: Atletico - Barca (3-2 agg)

I think this one's on Atleti's defence - the were blocking pretty much every avenue of attack really well. Barca had not many places to run to. I want to re-watch the second half actually, I was a bit depressed watching it yesterday :( This was also first game with Barca where Atleti didn't get...

CL quarters: Atletico - Barca (3-2 agg)

You'd have to have data from at least the whole season to make a judgement on that. Barcelona usually runs less than opposition and still wins most games. I can't pinpoint exactly where the problem was with that game but I don't think it was the amount of running. Especially that their tactic...

CL quarters: Atletico - Barca (3-2 agg)

You don't sound like a cunt  it's just sometimes the best course of action maybe a bit counter-intuitive. But I am genuinely interested if the amount of running a team does has an effect on the output and I'm trying to find any league year to year running statistics but not having much luck...

CL quarters: Atletico - Barca (3-2 agg)

Can anyone provide any proof that more running equals better performance? So far the golden ball hogger Messi on average appears to run very little, so does Ronaldo in comparison with his teammates. Barcelona as a team does not run too much and this doesn't stop them collecting plenty...

He might be improving, or is it that he can only play well when Simeone is around?

I don't think it's problem either, it's just somebody said that he apparently doesn't drink. Anyway, I don't care much about what players do in their lives outside of the pitch.

Soon they'll be catching him smoking behind Camp Nou with Mathieu. Well, I heard Jesus was big on wine.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v4

But you wouldn't say you had a great relationship throughout the time you hadn't seen each other. Messi is saying the type of things you're expected to say when a journo is asking you. They keep linking them together as they're two of Argentina's greats. Just like they keep linking him with...

    10 - Lionel Messi - v4

Not just guy, a lot of people have friends (or even family) they haven't seen for a long time, it's just funny to describe this situation as a "great relationship" as it implies some sort of a interaction. Also, I have this weird feeling that they don't really like each other.

    10 - Lionel Messi - v4

What does Messi consider a relationship then? Or is he saying that a great relationship with Maradona involves not speaking to him. Which I could understand.

He was also pretty tipsy during the treble celebrations.
