People can be impressionable - especially so when big money is involved. Besides, players extend contracts all over the place only to regret is later on - which I bet is the case with Verratti. Not that I condone is, but that's just how it is.

That's such a ridiculously easy claim to make. When P$G won't let him go, the outcome will probably be a new bumper contract for him, and then you'll gloat and say I told you so. In reality, though, I could easily imagine him badly wanting to come, but obviously won't be allowed by his employer.

I agree completely - Verratti is probably the closest thing to the perfect solution for our current midfield problems. What I'm objecting against, is putting players on pedestals like that. Some people did it with Pogba last summer (or was it the one prior to that?) as well, and real life...

I doubt it. More likely he'll end up like Adama and Deulofeu. Kid got some highlight reel actions for sure, but aside from that there's not a whole lot that I've seen from him, that screams first team material any time soon. If he's not comfortable taking a year at the B team, well then, good...

I'm not usually one to be overly pessimistic, but I'd sooner bet my money on Robert conjuring up Cancelo, Parejo and Deulofeu/Vitolo for us, than the three you mention.
