Well we won't know for sure until he gets a chance in the midfield and quite frankly the way Raki and to an extent Iniesta are playing he really can't do any worse. For sure, he would bring fresh impetus and energy to a tired and slow midfield.

Name the players that have been playing well? I can only think of 4 or 5 max. A Vermaelen here for a Pique there or an Alena and Roberto combo instead of Raki and Iniesta won't make much of a difference.

I'm not advocating the selection of the sicknote but we carry Pique in league games and he gets skinned on a weekly basis. Most of the passengers should give Messi a cut of their wages for saving this team time and time again.

How many chances did he get in midfield? How many minutes and consecutive games did he play? I prefer Denis on the left but he's technically a very sound footballer and if given a decent chance can play in most positions.
