    Juan Agudelo

Agudelo has technique that Altidore could only dream of having at that age. Agudelo reminds me more of Chicharito than anyone else. He has the natural instincts to play the game, and shows a willingness to help in other areas. Very similar to Chicharito.

    Ibrahim Afellay

His width would have been a very welcome addition had Iniesta been playing his usual position instead of Keita. Keita is not the most intrepid moving forward and, with Thiago dictating in the Xavi role, there was no llegada from CM. Afellay should have adjusted for Keita's more static...

    Ibrahim Afellay

Afellay will be fine. He is not a winger. If the club holds onto him and lets him be the Iniesta understudy, I think he will be a good player for the club. He was out of position against Villareal, but could have helped himself tactically with more movement inside.

    Mesut Ozil

Yes he is. Barca missed on that one, and I think the transfer of Afellay admitted as much. Afellay was bought for much less than Ozil, so it was a low risk deal anyway. Afellay played wide against Villareal, but is a much more natural central player.

    Alberto Botía

There's no way Pep passes up the buy-back on a cantera product who has proven himself in league play. Two central defenders are needed, but neither should be (or can be) a high cost purchase. The big money will go for Cesc and/or the striker.

    Gerard Deulofeu

Future crack. I wonder how many clauses Barcelona put in his contract from a young age (anti-every-club-not-named-FC Barcelona).

    Ibrahim Afellay

Left wing and Iniesta cover. Two birds with one stone. Jeffren is the one who should be scared, not Thiago. Thiago will be fine at CM. I look for him to step into the full team next season.

    Javier Pastore

That's all he's been asked about since the World Cup. This is the problem the big sides all have. They fail to do deals for players like this when the time is ripe. Someone could have got a huge bargain pre-WC. He won't leave for anything less than a king's ransom now.

    Javier Pastore

Pastore is one of a kind. He is the closest thing to Cruyff I have seen. It's a pity we don't have the proper position available in the side with Don Andres and Xavi. I would HATE to see him at Madrid.

    Bojan Krkic

I think he has done so, but further development is certainly required. He is noticeably stronger than previous seasons. The added weight is obvious, and Pep's dietary and physical regime adds it in the right places. This is why Messi has flourished under Guardiola. Bojan needs to keep...

    Javier Pastore

Somebody could have done a sweet deal for Pastore pre World Cup, but that's the way it always is with players like this. I look for one of the Milans or big English teams to come in for him soon enough. Brazil will be just fine with Ganso.

    Bojan Krkic

Bojan is an interesting talent. I couldn't tell you what kind of striker he is and how he fits the Barca system in that position. Physically, he seems better suited to the wing, but he's not really a one on one sort of player. I believe he certainly has talent and projection, but I wish I...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Keita. Busquets is a fundamental part of the team from a function point of view. Keita will be out next summer.

Very classy (and desperate) gesture. Fair play nonethless! Welcome Jefecito!

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Hodgson predictably delivers a parting blast to Masch. Saving face as LFC know they ended up with a bad deal financially that their supporters will not appreciate.

I want to see 90% possession advantages. :) I'm greedy.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Both. Only Busquets will operate as a co-distributor and more box-to-box alongside the Legend. I think it is Keita who will be marginalised by this signing and not Sergio.

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Nice piece of business for Mascherano. He is a needed piece of the puzzle. We need some legit steel in the midfield and Masch will provide that in spades. I think you will see Mascherano-Busquets-Xavi quite a bit with Iniesta in a wide playmaking role. And before all the "Iniesta's not a...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Reports in Italy and Spain that Inter has made an official offer for Masch which exceeds the amounts offered by Barcelona so far. Perhaps this development is why the next Milan discussion will not happen until tomorrow. Sandro has to get on his horse or risk losing out on a player specifically...

    14 - Javier Mascherano

Odd as I don't think he is in a great position to set ultimatums with a player on strike. 25m should be enough. If Yaya only went for around that amount, that's what we should pay for Masch.
