    La Liga Uncle Florentino 2016/2017

There were many games over the past 8 years where Messi or somebody else bailed the Barca team out. Was Celta better than Madrid today? I don't think so. Madrid played better than their competitor and won, albeit with a lucky offside goal.

How do you think Barca have won 6 La Ligas in last 8 years?

Great game today, but it was only Burnley. Hoping to see more Hazard skills this season.

Kroos scored a similar brilliant goal against Rayo a couple of years ago. One of my favourite long-range goals, besides that one awesome goal by Gerrard against Moldova. OccasionalFoolhardyKakarikis RigidHardAndalusianhorse Bonus - Gerrard's goal: 0hj0qfc3kb0

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

True. Just like Keane and Scholes watched United win the CL in 1999 from the stands, just like Villa watched Spain win the Euros in 2008 from the bench, just like Alves watched Barca win the CL trophy in 2009 from the bench and just like Suarez saw Barca win the league in 2015 at the Calderon...

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

I'm so glad he was able to win a trophy for his national team, their first ever too. Great for him to come full circle after that crushing loss 12 years ago. For someone who is so obsessed with being the best, watching Messi win 4 Ballon D'Ors in a row and rule the world with Barcelona should...

WATCH: Ronaldo convinces Moutinho to take a penalty (against Poland in the shootouts) Moutinho missed the crucial penalty in the shootout loss against Spain in Euro 2012 semis.

They've really handicapped themselves with the 10th and 11th Champions League titles :)

El Flaco: Hey man, is it possible for you to make a gfy of Griezmann's celebration after his second against Ireland? He did the same thing after his goal against Barca in the Champions League. Thanks!

Did he give up on football or what?

He did. But Real Madrid, not Portugal.

    Euro 2016

Yeah I know, I don't think Ronaldo is anywhere close to Messi's level overall nowadays. But in that post, I was talking in context to my reply to gasgas. I don't know who will win it this year. We have half a year to go and we'll have to see how Suarez does especially.

    Euro 2016

I agree and disagree. Yeah Argentina are bottling it a bit in finals but on Sunday, if Messi's penalty goes in Argentina have all the momentum. I really think they would've won had he scored that penaldo.

Just a single penaldo would have been enough for Messi....

    Cristiano Ronaldo - v1

It's vastly overshadowed by the bad luck of being born in Messi's generation.

    Euro 2016

I know, this Euro has been really boring. I'm not the biggest fan of letting 3rd place teams getting in, but once that's done, the knockout setup is not bad. 1 out of 4 quarter-final games being fought between group winners can't be avoided. I know France, Italy, Spain, Germany being on one...
