We know that with most managers not named Valverde, he would play in a midfield three. I still think it’s his best position, but it looks like EV has decided that only ONE of Coutinho + Dembele can start for some reason.

Valverde just tries the same thing over and over again, wrongly hoping for, or expecting a different outcome.

We should start experimenting more with Messi as the CF/false 9. I don’t think he can or should play RW much longer. I can’t believe we’re over half way through the season and we haven’t seen a front line of Dembele-Messi-Malcom once? Before anyone say’s 4-4-2. I despise that formation.

I said a few weeks ago that I believe him to currently be the best option in the market.

Murillo is a right sided CB, so he would deputise for Pique not Lenglet. Also Valverde’s selections are hardly vindication.

Murillo is a good CB and has played well in the couple of opportunities he has had. He’ll be on relatively low wages and won’t kick up a fuss if he doesn’t start. Don’t really see the clamor for getting rid of him. See what the situation is at the end of the season.

He does need to step up in the CL. His record is awful in the competition. Despite a good work ethic, his all round game is not of a standard to adequately justify his poor goal return. Hopefully he can turn it around.

Would need to be someone with a goal threat. Pogba would be perfect in that three, but since we don’t have him, Alena/Coutinho should at least be tried to see how they get on.
