    Barca Transfers and Rumors

Donkey. Effective as a battering ram for a lower level team, but nowhere near good enough for Barca.

    6 - Carles Alena

Cheers. Every time I've watched the commentators (english) have pronounced it differently, ha ha.

    Rafinha Alcantara

At 25? With the injuries he's had? I don't see it. I mean great if he does, but incredibly unlikely. Especially since, okay, someone like Salah who exploded at a late age, even assuming he's not a one season wonder it's no coincidence his improvement coincided with him moving to a different...

    6 - Carles Alena

Can someone help, I've never been quite sure how to pronounce his name. Is is A Lay Nuh? Or Al En Yar? Or something else entirely, ha ha? Thanks.

    Rafinha Alcantara

Yeah, that's the problem. Rafinha's good (if injury prone) but not good enough to be a starter and at his age won't suddenly get loads better. Whereas Alena, though I haven't personally witnessed it, people seem confident he's got real potential. Trouble is, Valverde always seems to take the...

    Marco Asensio

Yeah there was that spell, I think it was last season, where it felt like he was scoring a worldie every game. Then I didn't hear much for a little while, so I was curious. Like I say, from the little I've observed, I haven't that impressed, certainly not awed, but I will admit I do favour a...

FC Barcelona to meet Tottenham, PSV and Internazionale in UCL-groupstage 2018/19

To be honest I'm not conviced Valverde will rotate sufficiently, but that's a different subject. As regards weak groups being the cause of our underperformance, I disagree. Indeed I fail to see how us having to struggle to qualify will help us six months down the line. And vice versa, I don't...

FC Barcelona to meet Tottenham, PSV and Internazionale in UCL-groupstage 2018/19

Don't buy this argument myself. There's too much of a time gap. A tough game in Oct has no impact on what happens in March, say. It's not like our players are new to champions league.

FC Barcelona to meet Tottenham, PSV and Internazionale in UCL-groupstage 2018/19

Not quite sure why you'd want 'competition' at this stage. A hard win is still only 3 points. Ideally you want it as easy as possible, conserve energy, secure qualification, focus on league till Feb. Competition comes later.

FC Barcelona to meet Tottenham, PSV and Internazionale in UCL-groupstage 2018/19

Pretty tricky group. Okay so Inter aren't anywhere near what they were, but away certainly they won't be easy. Tottenham obviously will be tough too.

    Marco Asensio

How good do people think he'll become? I haven't seen loads but when I have I haven't been blown away. Good shot, technically pretty good, but a bit slow. Certainly I don't see that he has the potential to be amongst the very best. Maybe I'm biased, particularly as he hasn't set the world on...

    Son Heung-min

Really? Playing where? He's a LW, and we have Dembele, Coutinho and possibly Malcom for that. On right where he'd be far less effective same issue. And he's not a striker so... I mean yes he could probably do a better job than Suarez but that's really not saying much. Imo he's not good enough...

    Adrien Rabiot

He's not even their key midfielder. Sure they want to keep him, he's youngish, French, and they're having ffp issues so replacing him will be hard. But let's not act like if we sign Rabiot we're doing anything more than slightly inconveniencing them. As for ourselves, well I'm not sure what to...

    Paul Pogba

Yeah, he needs runners. He's certainly got the ability to make the pass. Him and Mbappe at club level would be irresistible.

    Paul Pogba

It's weird one with Pogba; like you say he lacks consistency, but he's got so much talent, strength, his passing most of the time is exceptional... For me he's one of those players that would make a good team very good, like France, but he won't/can't carry you. Of course he wouldn't have to at...

    Barca Transfers and Rumors

People are really getting carried away with that stat? It means nothing. Hell, I'm pretty sure in prem last year Henderson had the most passes, and he's bang average at best. As for Jorginho, I certainly don't rate him as a sole def mid so far, probably would make a decent cm though, but I...

    Anthony Martial

I'd still take him here for sure. Stagnated recently, but real potential still. Can play on left or up front too. Far better back up than Munir. Would be genuine competition for Suarez.

    Paul Pogba

Tbf Utd themselves are so poor so it's hard to judge. Personally I think Pogba is excellent, if not as good as he thinks he is. Would I want him at Barca? Prob not.

    Barca Transfers and Rumors

I didn't watch him for Napoli, but what I've seen of him so far: excellent passer, decent on the ball but gets caught pretty easily, absolute liability defensively. Better than Rabiot? Maybe. Miles better than Thiago? Absolutely not.

    Arthur

Could say that about anyone. Even more so people who like to dribble. I mean it is only the second game, so it's not the end of the world, but when you take last season into consideration, the overplaying of favourites, the mistrust of youth in general, it is a little worrying.
