    Raphael Varane

Very good game, despite his CB partner being more interested with elbowing people. Saved his ass quite a few times too. Doubt they'd be this solid with Pepe today.

    UEFA Champions League 2014-15

Except for Madrid's counterpressing and Mandzukic' antics not really a good game to showcase the best league in the world.

Varane once again superb. Saving Ramos ass so many times.

Mathieu's physicality and speed will be needed more. He isn't that bad with the ball either.

Can't really imagine anyone to include 7 (SEVEN) stats related to just passing when comparing defenders. That's more than I included for defending, 6. But feel free to provide a link to the discussion you mentioned.

I see you are fully commited to Pep's philosophy. And no, I don't see any users here measuring defenders on assists or key passes as you seem to do. Doesn't make us less Barca fans. "We should sell Pique because he doesn't play passes longer than 20 meters on average." Said no one ever...

What a joke. How are statistics like number of assists or number of total (lol?) passes relevant? Ridiculous to include 6(!) other statistics only about passing. The most funniest is probably passing length. Yeah, Boateng is the best because his passes are in average 2 meters longer. Anyways...

CL quarters: Barca - PSG 2-0 (5-1 agg.)

Is there a problem with that? And how is PSG a 'rival' except for playing two CL matches against Barca? Unbalanced as hell.

CL quarters: Barca - PSG 2-0 (5-1 agg.)

Sounds really nice but we're not welfare. We should be more pragmatic like PSG and keeping players against their will sometimes if we can't get a decent fee for them (or selling simply isn't good for us). Like Cesc or Ibra... You can't buy a player for 70m only to sell him for 20m the year after.

CL quarters: Barca - PSG 2-0 (5-1 agg.)

Liverpool at least get decent fees for some of their players (Suarez, Torres), we don't. I don't think there's any club in top football that's as mismanaged as Barca is. Normally you buy low and sell high but we rather do the opposite. Anyway, I hope we can come out with a victory on Wednesday...

Should Luis Suarez take some right footed free kicks?

Not only free kicks but also penalties should be shared.

Mascherano and Verratti are completely different players, with the latter not being a particularly strong tackler. But yeah, he's aerially weak as Masch, you could say that. Much more Xavi though.

I don't think 8 matches (max) are enough to compare, especially when you consider that certain teams faced stronger/weaker teams than others. Ofc that argument applies to comparing leagues as well, but it's more notable with such a small sample size. Not even one of those players have the...
