Fontas sucked dude.. He's just another Victor Sanchez. Not every Masia product is another Puyol, Xavi or Iniesta.

Playing for Young Ajax mostly. I think he has featured in 2 or 3 games for Ajax.

He played on the wing at Ajax which isn't his position. He did play (good) for a while at BMG but then got injured multiple times. His statistics for the national team show he was actually a good striker. But that's not really the point here.

So? Puyol was clumsy on his debut too and he was a Masia product. It's pretty hard to focus on football if you just moved from some shithole in Ukraine to Barcelona, you don't yet speak the language and you're playing for the best team in the world. Adapting is hard, especially if you're making...

Not at Barca but: Wesley Sonck, Branko Strupar, Oulare. They played for Genk (my first team, even before Barca) and I remember seeing them in preseason thinking what the hell these guys were doing there. And now look at what they achieved..

He wasn't slow with Shakthar. I've seen players flop completely in their first season (or the first few months at least), looking slow, clumsy and basically useless and still turn into club legends.

Piqué isn't slow.. Neither is Chygrynskiy. Both are fast enough.

Give him time.. We all know Caceres deserved more time too but what's done is done. We shouldn't make the same mistake twice. It wouldn't be the first time a player flopped in his first season at Barca and burst into life in his second.

Especially if he could have used Bojan or tested Maxwell on the left wing..
