I reckon we'll reach some mutual agreement: they get to keep him and don't have to pay 28m (0-10m). Saves us money on bringing him back, saves them money on buying him.

Personally I reckon it's just paper talk, doesn't make sense to buy a midfielder considering our lack of depth (or imminent lack of depth if Alexis and DV leave) in other positions. I'm just saying if we were to offer, I reckon he wouldn't be too reluctant to join. No doubt he's a great player...

I disagree, but I see your point. He's not so much a Cuenca type player who stays very wide on the wing, he's more like DV who is narrower, allowing him to get closer to goal and shoot. I actually think the same could be said for Alexis, it's just that they're being played wider for whatever reason.

Is this some sort of joke? His record in the Bundesliga is more than enough to prove he's world class, not to mention that: 1. They were not "tap ins" 2. Then penalty being gifted or not (it wasn't) has nothing to do with the taking of it...

Maybe I misjudged completely, but IMO 15m should be enough (considering we could probably get players like Carvajal/Richards for considerably less than that and De Sciglio for ~that price.
