If we signed Jonny then we certaintly wouldn't need Lemos. It'd mean Umtiti was the 3rd/4th choice CB this summer rather than being used primarily at Lb. Also means we don't have to waste "30 million" :lol: on lemons. Tbh I can still see us pushing for Bellerin and apparently we 'tapped him up'...

We would need Lemos to act as cover and our 5th choice CB. Alternatively we could just promote a B team player when cover is needed (which will not be often) and will be far cheaper than the ridiculous 12million asking fee. Unfortunately, we almost certaintly won't sign Pogba this summer...

He's not a bad player at all and would be a great signing for us next season. He's the best right back in the BPL, with him being named in the PFA team of the year 2016.

True, that is the other possibility that Umtiti is signed as the primary back up lb next year, who may replace Mathieu as the backup CB AND lb when he leave, and another CB eg. Veltman is signed this summer as another CB option. Tbh tho I'd rather we signed Umtiti and played him at lb and CB...

Because Lemos is still very young and raw, not an international starter. The thing is we will not be desperate for a starter at CB, only cover is needed.

Same here, would be a tragedy of we don't sign him, he's cheap, young, wants to play in Spain, lot of potential and can back up both lb and CB, wiz view to playing more frequently in the future.

Fast, strong CB or Lb who likes to play out from he back. He who relies more on his reading of the game than having to tackle, although he is v good at that also. He would fit in very well with our style and is the perfect option for us atm.

I like Veltman a lot more than Lemos and have suggested him in the past. However, I think that with Umtiti, he will primarily be the back up for Masch and Alba next season, with a view to him becoming a more established player in the future. With Mathieu and Masch likely to leave within 1-2...

Exactly, no need to sign a separate lb as well. Our back line could be: Aleix, Sergi, Pique, Masch, Mathieu, Lemos, Umtiti, Alba And that's at a cost of no more than 30-35 million

He would be a perfect signing for us. Great young CB with loads of potential to be a 1st team starter in the future, and affordable for us. Equally adept at Lb who suits our style of play. I think it's only a matter of time until we sign him. I actually rate him more than Marquinhos, all things...
