Valdes has a 4-year deal worth 60M with Monaco (20M sign-on bonus, 10M a year) but a clause allows him to still join another team. [sport]

So we will get money for him or I just read wrong ? :D

We won't get anything for him since his contract expires at the end of the season. The best thing he could do when he announced his departure was to renew so that we could sell him for a fair price and use it to buy ter Stegen.

Yup, he only care about the monney, the whole learning about other cultures bullshit is frankly disgusting. If he only was honest about it :puke:

Read a while ago that he did some shady investments in his private life, messed up and needs money now and that's why he leaves. No idea if true or not but it's doubtful that his dream is really to experience the culture of playing infront of 3000 Monaco fans.

this is what he does for a living. don't knock the guy for wanting to make a better living.

we would all do the same especially considering this will probably be his biggest paycheck and likely his last world class level contract.

20 mil signing bonus is quite the incentive.

Add to that he has given EVERYTHING for Barcelona... So I don't blame him for looking for that last big paycheck...

Changing subjects, what the hell was he doing in Almeria's goal? That was awful!

He's not leaving because of money. But if he chooses monaco, money would be the motive. Though it seems he'd rather go to the epl. If the rumors are true.

Because they don't pay high wages in England? ;)

Money is a horrid thing to chase, but a charming thing to meet.

And why would he do that? Did Neymar renew with Santos to ensure that they will make more money for him? No..because then his father wouldn't have 40M euros right now.
On the other hand Cesc did that with Arsenal and he was criticized for it, even though he accepted a smaller salary to play for Barca. No matter what they do, the players just can't win in front of the fans.

And in EPL the salaries are small? If he would only want money he would go to Qatar, but if he will chose Monaco he will have money and a new project.

He said he was more comfortable with the way the team's defending the corners right now..we have received 8 goals from corners in La Liga this season, when in the previous 13 seasons we were receiving 3 goals/season from corners.
