10 - Ansu Fati

He'd be out for another two months and hopefully being able to join for next season's start.
I was actually mentally prepared for him missing another 6 months and not playing before 2022.
So for me these are surprisingly good news.

This could still happen but let's hope for the best.

I don't like projecting when player will return from injury which puts more pressure on him. Just give him as much time as he needs to recover.

I'm shaking

Dr. Ramon Cugat performed three failed arthroscopies on Ansu Fati's left knee. The first one being in November, then January and the last one in March. Ansu visited other specialists in France that told him that removing his meniscus is now the only 'solution' to his injury which is now degenerative.

Cugat out

I really dislike people jumping at others with limited amounts of information. No way for us to tell if he fucked up or Fati just lost the genetic lottery.

The only 2 facts we know is that Ansu has done one operation back in November, and that his recovery is taking way longer than expected.

All other information we were given is throw media speculation, media that are unethically reporting private medical information of 18 years old kid that should never be reported without his consent. Information we have no idea is correct or not
I will take all those information with huge grain of salt, things doesn't look good solely due to the fact that he isn't back yet and with no timetable for returning, the whole "4th operation " is just media bs until the club/player announces otherwise

True but when it comes to jobs, results matter luck or not. I wouldn't feel comfortable putting Pedri under the same doctors knife.

These players are too valuable to risk around.

You seem to have some insight, what are your thoughts on potential stem cell therapy in his case? Do you know if FC Barcelona even have access to this? Surely they would, right?
By the way, where did you get the info about the medial horn, was there more info on his injury?

I had been looking into the doctors involved to see what areas of research they focus on since the holy grail of meniscus repair science is in bioengineering. I cannot tell from the French doctor but he seems to be an advocate for preserving as much of the meniscus as possible - so, at the very least, I would guess his involvement suggests a focalized/hybrid approach (Hence Dr. Maestro (Galician) too)

There's a real nice video of Dr. Cottet (If you speak/understand French) where he talks about meniscus repair

Bayerns doc called cougat a extremely dangerous Doc. He said that Cougat mission is just get the Players fit as fast as possible not counting possible future damage.

This is what I was thinking. Three failed surgeries for the most valuable youngster is stackable offense. He shouldn't make anymore surgeries on our players.

Not only sackable offense,
Barca board should sue the hell out of Dr Cugat, independently of Ansu and his family who should do the same.
We are talking about destruction a major financial asset of the club.

yet Pep "Protect the Players" Guardiola always uses him

Hmmm

As explained by Kicker reporter Alex Truica, the rift between coach and doctor was blown open after Thiago Alcantara was sent personally by Guardiola to be treated by Dr. Ramon Cugat in Barcelona rather than by the club's doctor after suffering a knee injury last spring. The player sustained two further setbacks involving the same knee as he worked toward a comeback, and what was expected to be an absence of two months or less kept the Spaniard sidelined for a full year.
